Background

Hi, I’m Sam. I’m originally from Boston, MA. USA and I studied writing, photography, music, ecology and Spanish language during my undergraduate degree at Hampshire College (Amherst, MA). Later, I went on to train as a chef at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park, NY) and also earned an introductory certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers.

 

Work

I work as a professional photographer and videographer based in Barcelona, Spain, with a passion for creating commercial content for food and drink, travel, and lifestyle brands. I’m capable of working solo as well as in a team. One thing is for sure, I’m never happier than with a camera in hand.

 

In addition to shooting photo and video, I’m also skilled in professional photo editing and Photoshop retouching, as well as video editing, color correction, color grading, sound design.

 

When not focusing on my photography and videography work, I’m is also a freelance creative director, as well as a food/travel writer for several outlets, both in Barcelona and abroad. My writing and photography have been published in print magazines such as the Barcelona Metropolitan, websites such as Eater.com and Catavino.net, travel companies and airline websites such as City Wonders, Eurowings, and Avios, and guidebooks such as Monocle City Guides and 48 Hour City Guides (National Geographic).
